The Minister of Finance discusses with the British Ambassador cooperation in the banking sector

The Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, discussed with the UK Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, through the development of mutual cooperation in the areas of developing the banking sector and the contribution of the private sector to the overall national economy.

During the meeting, the Minister affirmed, according to a statement by the Ministry, the strength of the cooperation relations between the Republic of Iraq and the United Kingdom, and the continuous development and growth it is witnessing in various fields, especially in the field of money, economy and investment.

The statement added, "the meeting witnessed discussions on consolidating bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, through the development of mutual cooperation in the fields of developing the banking sector and the contribution of the private sector to the overall national economy, in addition to discussing the promising investment opportunities that Iraq abounds in."

For his part, Ambassador Richardson expressed "the aspiration of his country's government to enhance the ranges of constructive cooperation with Iraq, by providing all forms of technical support and expertise to contribute to sustainable development projects in Iraq."
