The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement: "This step comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland, and reflects the desire of both sides to consolidate cooperation in various fields." The Ministry stressed: "The reopening of the Swiss Embassy represents a positive sign in the path of diplomatic relations, and opens new horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two countries, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples."
