The Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces announced the destruction of an ISIS den, with a preemptive security operation in the province.

The commander of Diyala operations, Talib al-Moussawi, said in a statement: "Combat unit in the Popular Mobilization carried out a preemptive operation after monitoring the movements of ISIS terrorists through surveillance cameras in the area between Balkana and Darawshka mountain, southwest of Khanaqin."

He added: "The operation resulted in finding a hideout for the terrorist organization ISIS and destroying it completely," indicating: "The aim of this operation is to secure the path of visitors and pursue the remnants of the terrorist organization."
