The head of the Popular Mobilization Commission, Faleh Al-Fayyad, condemned the burning of the Holy Qur’an.
Al-Fayyad said in a statement, "We strongly condemn the disgraceful terrorist act that a reckless person committed by burning a copy of the Holy Qur'an under legal cover, unfortunately, by the Swedish authorities, in an incident that is not the first of its kind that deliberately provokes the feelings of Muslims and even non-Muslims who believe in the heavenly religions, respecting and sanctifying them." .
He added, "All international laws, and covenants imposed respect for religions and beliefs, which are considered the basis for the development of peoples, their advancement, the pillar of their stability, the establishment of the pillars of peaceful coexistence, and the rejection of extremism and hatred. Therefore, what this imbecile did will be a reason to stir up feelings of hatred at a time when our region and the world need what contributes to moving away from the causes of violence and extremism.
He continued: "Our great hope is that the wise people of the world will take a responsible stance towards this terrorism, which is practiced under cover and titles that have become false and exposed to those who raise it and rant about it. We also recommend more restraint and not being drawn into what those people want through their heinous actions."
