Baghdad / NINA /- The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed that the depth of the historical ties between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia contributes to supporting the security and stability of the region.

A presidential statement stated: “The president met today, Tuesday, with the Saudi ambassador to Iraq, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari.”

During the meeting, the President of the Republic affirmed the depth of the historical ties between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their continued perpetuation with the same strength in order to achieve the supreme interests of the two countries and contribute to supporting the security and stability of the region.

For his part, the Saudi ambassador indicated the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen the mechanisms of communication with Iraq in various fields, expressing his thanks to the President for his support for all efforts aimed at consolidating the foundations of constructive cooperation between the two countries in service of the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for development and prosperity.
