The Anti-Narcotics Directorate in Maysan, in cooperation with the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, and with a security operation, arrested one of the largest drug financiers and transporters in Maysan.

The Maysan Police Directorate said in a statement, a copy of which the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) received: "The operation was carried out after receiving information and follow-up by the Iraqi National Intelligence Service in Maysan about the presence of a drug financier in Al-Adl district, south of the province, where a work team was formed by the Intelligence Service, the Anti-Narcotics Directorate and the Iraqi Army (Maysan Operations Command).

The Directorate added that the accused is considered one of the most prominent drug financiers and transporters across the governorates, indicating that he was referred to the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of narcotics./ End
