Between the shooting of the boy Khaled Samer Al-Zaanen and the announcement of his martyrdom and the identification of his identity, there were a few minutes in which the family received the news, and it struck his family like a thunderbolt.
Between the shock of the news of the martyrdom and the reality of the event, the occupation soldiers raided the house too quickly for the family to comprehend all of this.
At approximately nine o'clock on Wednesday evening, the occupation forces fired bullets at the boy Khaled, at the light rail station on Street No. 1 in Jerusalem, under the pretext that he had carried out a stabbing attack at the place. Then they announced his death and kept his body in the "Abu Kabir Refrigerators."
While the martyr's body was being held and transported to the ambulance, dozens of settlers clapped and danced with joy, and their voices rose as they chanted to kill Arabs, and directed insults against the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in addition to repeating their attempt to attack Jerusalemites during their presence at the site.
In Beit Hanina, north of the city of Jerusalem, the people gathered at the home of the Al-Zaanin family as soon as the news of the martyrdom of their son Khaled spread. During that time, intelligence and occupation forces stormed the house and its surroundings in large numbers, and completely expelled everyone, except for members of the martyr’s family.
Regarding what happened, Nasser Qaws, director of the Prisoner’s Club in the city of Jerusalem, explained that the forces stormed the home of the Zaanin family, evacuated the entire area, and after searching and vandalizing the entire contents of the house, they arrested the martyr’s parents, sister, and brother.
The club director, Qaws, added that the forces, after carrying out the arrest and withdrawing from the vicinity of the house, massively fired tear gas bombs and rubber bullets towards the martyr’s house and the street leading to it, without any reason, which led to the recording of many cases of suffocation, including women, children and the elderly.
Qaws said: “The occupation executed the martyr in cold blood at the light train station, and killing Palestinians is a continuing policy of the occupation government.”
A comprehensive strike
The national and Islamic forces in the city of Jerusalem called for a comprehensive strike today, Thursday, to mourn the soul of the martyr Al-Zaanin and to denounce the crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people.
In their statement, the forces denounced the execution of the martyr Khaled and the accompanying dancing, singing, and joy of the settlers as the army killed the boy. They said: “This confirms the extent of the occupation’s hatred, fascism, and racism.”
The national and Islamic forces affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to defend their land, rights, sanctity and holy sites.
Confrontations
One hour after midnight, clashes broke out in the Shuafat camp.
