Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Warnings Issued for Makkah Region


Makkah: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms, which may lead to flash floods and hail, are anticipated in parts of the Makkah Region. Light to moderate rain showers are also expected in the regions of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and Madinah.



According to Saudi Press Agency, dust-stirring winds are predicted to impact these regions, along with Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Eastern, and Riyadh regions. This weather pattern is likely to influence visibility and outdoor conditions.



Over the Red Sea, winds are expected to be northwesterly to westerly in the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northeasterly in the southern part, with speeds ranging from 10 to 50 km/h. Wave heights may vary from half a meter to over two meters, resulting in a calm to choppy sea state.



In the Arabian Gulf, winds will blow from the northwest to west at speeds of 17-34 km/h. The wave height is anticipated to range from half a meter to one and a half meters, maintaining a relatively calm sea state.
