Accra:Northern Borders Region Falconers and bird trackers in the Northern Borders Region are utilizing traditional bird-trapping methods as the hunting season begins, regulated by the National Center for Wildlife.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these traditional techniques include using a handcrafted metal trap designed to blend into the desert environment. This trap is particularly effective during peak midday hours when the heat drives migratory birds to seek shade under desert shrubs.

Success in bird trapping depends on environmental knowledge passed down through generations. Hunters must understand seasonal flight paths, weather patterns, and likely resting spots to effectively use these methods.

The practice remains a staple in the Northern Borders Region, complementing various seasonal trapping strategies tailored to different species and conditions.
