The Sterilization Department of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque has intensified its efforts to sanitize the mosque in preparation for the arrival of pilgrims and visitors. This department is dedicated to sterilizing and perfuming the entire mosque, including its roof and courtyards, ensuring that pilgrims and visitors can perform their rituals comfortably and conveniently.

The sterilization process is carried out through daily programs that run around the clock, utilizing top-of-the-line equipment and skilled personnel. Trained staff members employ over 600 cleaning machines to execute sterilization procedures. Each day, more than 109,000 litres of antiseptics, over 126,000 litres of disinfectants, and 30 litres of fresheners are utilized in the process.
