Riyadh: The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned statements made by the Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia, which included threats to ban maritime navigation.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 on the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. The ministry emphasized that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The ministry affirmed the UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its security.
