UAE Condemns Iranian Attack on Saudi Tanker SIDR in Strait of Hormuz

Riyadh: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly condemned the fatal Iranian attack on the Saudi tanker SIDR in the Strait of Hormuz today, declaring the strike a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement warning that weaponizing the vital waterway through economic blackmail and targeting commercial shipping poses a direct threat to regional stability, global energy security, and international trade routes.

The ministry expressed Abu Dhabi's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, affirming support for all measures Riyadh takes to protect its national interests, secure its vessels, and ensure freedom of navigation in regional and international waters.
