Jinan: Teams from Umm Al-Qura University secured first and third place in the finals of the Humanoid Robot Soccer Competition 2026, which concluded yesterday in Jinan, China, with the participation of specialized teams from 10 countries. According to Saudi Press Agency, the achievement followed a competitive performance preceded by an intensive preparation and training camp held from May 18 to 20 ahead of the official competitions, which began on May 21 and continued through May 24. The accomplishment reflects the Kingdom's growing presence in robotics and artificial intelligence. Umm Al-Qura University teams demonstrated strong technical performance during the group stage, topping the standings without defeat before confirming their dominance in the first-division finals by securing first and third place.
