Umrah Pilgrim Numbers Surge 22.5% at Start of New Season

Riyadh: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Pilgrim Experience Program announced a 22.5% increase in Umrah visa arrivals, reaching 931,500 pilgrims between the start of the season on Dhu Al-Hijjah 15 and the end of Muharram 1448 AH. Total international arrivals exceeded 1.27 million, a growth attributed to leadership support, inter-agency coordination, and the ongoing development of digital and operational services aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, statistically, 75% of these international pilgrims arrived by air, while 25% entered through land and sea ports. Pakistan sent the highest number of pilgrims at 200,000, followed by Indonesia with 170,000, and Iraq with 130,000.

The ministry emphasized that the Umrah system will continue refining its digital accessibility and operational efficiency to provide a more convenient, high-quality experience from planning to departure.
