UN Envoy Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Airports

Riyadh:United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi group against civilian infrastructure and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, specifically targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport. These attacks resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Grundberg renewed his call for an immediate halt to these attacks. In a briefing to the UN Security Council, he emphasized that threats by the Houthis against commercial vessels linked to Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea undermine freedom of navigation and pose risks to maritime trade routes and international energy markets.

He further warned of the potential for Yemen to slide back into full-scale war due to the expansion of military operations on multiple fronts in recent weeks.
