Under Patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Riyadh Governor to Attend Ceremony to Honour Winners of 24th King Salman Award for Memorization of Holy Quran for Boys Tomorrow

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and on his behalf, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh, is scheduled tomorrow night to attend a ceremony to honour winners of the local competition of the 24th King Salman Award for the Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran for Boys. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance organised and supervised the competition.

The ceremony will take place at 10 pm in Riyadh at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, in the presence of Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh and several princes, ministers, scholars and senior officials from various sectors of the state.

Three thousand contestants participated in the preliminary qualifiers, and 105 entries qualified from various regions of the Kingdom for the final stage.

The ceremony to honour female winners of the competition will be held under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ wife, Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathleen, on Friday evening at the same time, Ramadan 2, in Riyadh at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

The prizes for the competition in its current session exceed SAR 3 million and will be distributed to male and female winners in the competition’s six branches.
