UNESCO Chair at KFCRIS Hosts Virtual Workshop on Translation of Cultures and AI

Riyadh: The UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS), supported by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, hosted a virtual workshop on the translation of cultures and artificial intelligence (AI) on September 24-25, 2025.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the workshop featured international researchers who presented chapters for an upcoming edited volume on this year’s theme: the translation of cultures and AI. A key objective was sharing and discussing their studies in preparation for publication.

Four chapters were presented, critically examining AI’s role in cultural translation. Topics included comparisons between human and AI translation, the ethical responsibilities of human translators, and AI’s impact on preserving cultural diversity.
