UNIDO Conference Holds Extensive Dialogue on Women’s Empowerment in Industry


Riyadh: A panel discussion titled ‘Empowering Women, Transforming Industry: Leadership for a Sustainable Future’ featured a wide-ranging dialogue on women’s participation in inclusive and sustainable industrialization, underscoring their role in shaping the future of industry and the economy amid rapid digitalization and the green transition.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the session was held on the third day of the 21st United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference, which was held as the ‘Global Industry Summit 2025’ from November 23 to 27 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh. The conference brings together global industry leaders, experts, government agencies, and major companies.



Participants discussed key challenges facing women in the industrial sector and reviewed models presented by various member states. They examined ways to strengthen industrial policies that support women’s participation, focusing on expanding access to leadership roles, bridging gaps in STEM disciplines, improving access to finance, and leveraging digital tools to advance inclusive manufacturing.
