Riyadh-- Regional Director for the Middle East at the UN World Tourism Organization Basmah bint Abdulaziz Al-Mayman, has participated in the sessions of the 6th Future Investment Initiative (FII6), being held in Riyadh, as a speaker in a panel discussions titled “Wellness Tourism: Developing Tourism”.
During the session, Al-Mayman addressed the concept of wellness tourism as one of the most growing tourist products in the international tourism industry due to increasing pressures of life and work that humans go through, referring to its role in cultural diversity, interfaith dialogue, respecting beliefs, sustainable tourist development, psychological improvement, realizing inner peace and harmony with others and the surrounding environment.
She also delivered a presentation on how emerging markets absorb growing demands for wellness tourism experiences through implementing plans to improve infrastructure, hotel occupancies, administration, security, technological innovation, and limiting environmental impacts through processing wastes resulting from medical trips and associated tourist activities.
