US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs Barbara Leaf said: "We were pleased with the talks between Iraq and Iran in the field of water, because Iran had refused, for many years, to sit down for talks in this regard.

She added at a round table for journalists: "I am ready to bet on the success of American companies in front of Iranian companies."
