Belgrade: On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji participated in the high-level commemorative meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, held in the Republic of Serbia.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Elkhereiji delivered a speech expressing Saudi Arabia's gratitude to President Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian government for hosting the meeting amid international challenges. He emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to the Movement's founding principles, including state sovereignty and independent decision-making, and the rejection of force to resolve disputes. These principles guide Saudi Arabia's foreign policy, which promotes dialogue, cooperation, and international peace and security.

Elkhereiji highlighted the Movement's role in supporting just causes, especially its stance on the Palestinian issue and Middle East stability. He advocated for continued coordination through the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement to uphold political solutions and international law, citing UN Security Council Resolution 2817 on freedom of navigation.

He pointed to the Middle East's instability due to the Israeli occupation's actions in Gaza, the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and Syria, which violate rights and state sovereignty. Elkhereiji reiterated that peace is essential for regional security and requires a comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause.

The vice minister stated that the Kingdom's regional efforts are based on shared security responsibility and sustainable understandings to prevent conflict. Saudi Arabia supports communication, de-escalation initiatives, and addressing tensions proactively.

Elkhereiji concluded by urging regional countries to avoid policies that increase tensions, advocating for stability as a basis for development, and offering greater opportunities for regional aspirations.
