Riyadh: Building on the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia, the mutual visa exemption agreement between the two countries entered into force today, May 11, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing tourism and cultural exchange.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement covers all passport types, including diplomatic, special, and ordinary, making Russia the first country with which the Kingdom has concluded a mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of ordinary passports.

It allows citizens of both countries to travel visa-free for tourism, business, and visits to family and friends, with stays of up to 90 days per visit or in multiple periods within a calendar year. The exemption does not apply to work, study, residency, or Hajj, which remain subject to existing visa requirements.

The agreement taking effect coincides with the 100th anniversary of Saudi-Russian diplomatic relations, marking a milestone expected to further boost mutual visits and strengthen cooperation across tourism, economic, and cultural sectors.
