Riyadh, November 1, 2022, SPA -- The Technical Assistance and Capacity Development Group (TA/CDG) began here today a two-day workshop in Riyadh hosted by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) to increase and develop the capacity of Yemeni institutions. The workshop will be jointly presided over by the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

SDRPY Supervisor Ambassador Mohammed Al Jabir, World Bank Country Manager for Yemen Tania Meyer, IMF Regional Resident Representative for Iraq and Yemen Gazi Shbaikat, Yemeni Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waad Badhib, Yemeni Minister of Electricity Mana'a bin Yamin, Hussam Al-Sharjabi of the Economic Team and Deputy Governor of the Yemeni Central Bank Muhammad Omar Banaja attended the inauguration ceremony.

The workshop is a continuation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts through SDRPY in all fields, including efforts to build the capacity of government institutions. The most recent of these efforts was the comprehensive capacity-building program launched in mid-2021 to strengthen the capacities of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Finance of Yemen, in order to support the Yemeni government and its institutions in serving Yemen.
