World Cup 2022: Saudi National team loses to Poland by a double

Doha, Saudi Football Team lost to its Polish counterpart 0-2 in a match that brought the two teams together today at the Education City Stadium in Doha, Qatar, within the second round of Group 3 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The first half ended with the Polish team advancing with a goal in the 39th minute through Piotr Zielinski, while the last minute of the half witnessed Salem Al-Dosari wasting a penalty kick for the Green.

In the second half, the Saudi team played with high spirit to adjust the result and had many chances, but the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Chesney managed to keep his net clean in his second match in a row, and at the 82nd minute the Polish team scored the second goal after a mistake by Abdullah Al-Maliki, who failed to control the ball well. Lewandowski took advantage of this mistake and controlled the ball to confront goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais and finally managed to send the ball crawling to the Saudi Keeper’s right. The match ended with Poland winning 2-0.

With this result, the Saudi national team’s points froze at 3 against 4 for Poland, pending the third and final round of the group stage, in which the Saudi team will meet Mexico while Poland will play Argentina. Mexico and Argentina will meet today at 10:00 pm for the second round of the same group.
