President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, met with Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The Secretary General stressed the firm position of the Council in supporting the United-Nations-led efforts to put an end to the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the three references represented by the GCC initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216, in order to protect Yemen's sovereignty and unity.
Albudaiwi also reiterated the support of the GCC countries for all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in Yemen and ending the Yemeni crisis so that the Yemeni people can live in prosperity, development and peace.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the great role played by the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to enhance security and stability in the country, in addition to shedding light on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
