Riyadh:The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has called on businesses in Saudi Arabia to file their value-added tax (VAT) returns for the specified periods. Businesses with annual supplies exceeding SAR40 million are required to submit their tax returns for September, while those with annual supplies not exceeding SAR40 million need to file for the third quarter of 2026. The deadline for both submissions is set for October 31, 2026.
According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA emphasized the importance of timely submission and payment of VAT through its smartphone application to avoid penalties. Penalties for late filing range from 5% to 25% of the undeclared tax amount.
Businesses looking for more information about VAT can contact ZATCA's 24/7 unified call center at 19993. Additionally, support is available through the 'Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs' account on X (@Zatca_Care), via email at [email protected], or through the live chat service on ZATCA's website.
VAT, an indirect tax system, is applicable to most goods and services transacted by businesses in Saudi Arabia, with certain exceptions.
