Jeddah: The 10th Forum of the Arab Division of Experts in Geographical Names commenced in Jeddah, gathering experts, specialists, and delegation heads to foster Arab connections concerning geographical names. The event, hosted by the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA), spans from November 10 to 12 and is themed ‘Strengthening Relationships and Links Between Arab States in the Field of Geographical Names.’ The forum features a series of scientific sessions conducted by field experts over the three-day period.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, the Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated the forum under the patronage of the Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GEOSA, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. In his opening address, GEOSA President Mohammed Alsayel underscored the forum’s backing by the Kingdom’s leadership, stressing the significance of place names and definitions of natural and human features for effective internat
ional communication. Alsayel extended a warm welcome to the forum’s participants.
