Detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence released a kidnapped girl, arrested the kidnappers, and overthrew seven wanted persons on various charges in several separate governorates.

A statement by the Directorate stated that its detachments and Baghdad Security, affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense, were able to release a kidnapped woman and arrest the two kidnappers, who are accused in Sabaa Al-Bour area of Baghdad.

The statement added that through careful field follow-up of the file of those wanted by the judiciary, the detachments of the Maysan Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the same directorate, in cooperation with the Fourth Maysan Emergency Regiment, were able to arrest six wanted persons in accordance with the provisions of Article (1/4) of terrorism and various other charges, and that through their presence in different areas of Al-Amara district, they were referred to the judicial authorities.

In a related context, the detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate, in coordination with the Narcotics Affairs, arrested one of the promoters and dealers of narcotic substances in the city of Diwaniyah, against whom an arrest warrant was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) of drugs of the Penal Code, and seized narcotic substances and tools of abuse in his possession.
