Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo late Wednesday, on the first visit by a senior Iranian official in ten years. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Araghchi will hold important talks with high-ranking officials in Egypt today, Thursday. Araghchi arrived from Jordan as part of a regional tour that previously included visits to Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman. He will also head to Turkey tomorrow, Friday. According to the Iranian IRNA news agency, Araghchi's tour aims to coordinate measures aimed at stopping the crimes of Israel and activating the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
