Audio Systems Enhance Worship Experience at Two Holy Mosques

Makkah:The audio systems at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah form an advanced technological network, providing a clear and stable acoustic environment. This setup supports worshippers, Umrah performers, and visitors in observing their rituals with reverence and tranquility, ensuring the call to prayer, prayers, sermons, and lessons are effectively transmitted across various locations within the mosques and their facilities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Grand Mosque's audio system is one of the largest globally, covering approximately 650,000 square meters with over 8,000 speakers installed throughout expansions, courtyards, passageways, and surrounding areas. The operation of this extensive system involves around 120 engineers and technicians who work continuously. It includes about 100 microphones dedicated to transmitting and recording the voices of imams, muezzins, preachers, and instructors.

The Prophet's Mosque employs an audio system that consists of three main components the primary system, the backup system, and the emergency system. These components ensure the reliability of audio transmissions, allowing for the continuous delivery of the imam's and muezzin's voices, as well as sermons and religious lessons.

Further enhancing the worship experience, the audio systems at both mosques are integrated with radio and television broadcasting networks, extending the reach of prayers and sermons to Muslims worldwide. Control rooms, alongside engineering and technical teams, are crucial in monitoring performance and maintaining sound quality throughout the mosques.
