The Minister of Defense, Thabet Al-Abbasi, confirmed: “The Popular Mobilization Forces play a major role in enhancing the security and stability of Kirkuk Governorate.”
The Popular Mobilization Commission stated in a statement: “The minister held a meeting with the commander of the 16th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization, Nabil Issa, in the presence of a number of security leaders at the Kirkuk operations headquarters, upon his arrival in the province.”
The statement added, “During the meeting, efforts to enhance the security and stability of the province and serve its citizens were discussed, in addition to enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Kirkuk administration, the Operations Command in the province and all security units.”
The Minister of Defense stressed the great role played by the Popular Mobilization Forces in Kirkuk Governorate for its security and stability.
For his part, the commander of the 16th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces confirmed: “Coordination of efforts among all will focus on serving the province and its citizens, and security stability will contribute to the success of its reconstruction efforts.”
