Kinshasa:The death toll from the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has risen to 5,026 out of 10,351 confirmed cases, according to Health Ministry data released on Saturday, indicating a fatality rate of nearly 50%.

According to Saudi Press Agency, a World Health Organization official reported that a third of the deaths occurred outside treatment centers, before patients could be tested, complicating efforts to contain the outbreak.

The outbreak's high fatality rate and the significant number of deaths occurring outside of treatment centers are posing challenges for health officials working to control the spread of the disease.
