Environment Ministry Campaign Enhances Health Compliance, Food Security in Makkah Livestock Markets

Riyadh: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's Makkah Region branch is carrying out an inspection and awareness campaign in local livestock markets to enhance compliance with health and veterinary regulations, protect consumers, preserve livestock, and support national food security.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign, launched at the beginning of July, forms part of an ongoing national program implemented across various regions of the Kingdom. It combines regulatory field inspections with targeted awareness activities to reduce violations and ensure market operators comply with approved requirements.

The educational program targets livestock owners, vendors, and market workers, highlighting proper transport, display, and veterinary health standards. The ministry urged all livestock market and slaughterhouse personnel to cooperate with inspection teams to help ensure public safety and operational efficiency.
