Jeddah:The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) convened the 51st meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics. This event saw participation from heads and representatives of various Arab statistical agencies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on addressing key issues aimed at strengthening statistical capacities across Arab countries. Discussions also emphasized the importance of training and research to keep up with rapid developments, including technological advancements and the application of modern tools to enhance the quality of official statistics.

This gathering precedes the Kingdom's hosting of the sixth UN World Data Forum in Riyadh, scheduled for November 2026. The forum aims to unite the global data community to deliberate on the future of data and statistics while fostering international partnerships and collaboration in the field.
