Salt lake city: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi affirmed that GCC member states have firmly established their role as reliable partners in bolstering global peace, stability, and energy security. Delivering an address yesterday at the Gulf States Forum hosted by the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Albudaiwi reviewed the council's historical trajectory, its international diplomatic role, and avenues to expand GCC-US partnerships across education, scientific research, and trade.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi addressed energy security and emphasized that the GCC states have consistently honored their supply commitments despite regional turbulence. He noted that the council navigated disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz with restraint and responsibility, maintaining global supply flows through alternative logistical routes.

Albudaiwi condemned continuing Iranian attacks on neighboring countries and the resulting regional instability, while highlighting sustained Gulf diplomatic mediation to bridge divides and foster dialogue that addresses legitimate security concerns.

Turning to future cooperation, the secretary-general said the GCC-US partnership offers broad horizons for advancing the knowledge-based economy, identifying artificial intelligence research, medical sciences, clean energy, and human capital development as vital pillars shaping future ties.
