GCC Secretary-General Condemns Colombia’s Recognition of Israeli Sovereignty Over Golan Heights

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi condemned in the strongest terms the Government of Colombia's recognition of the Israeli occupation forces' sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, underscoring that this acknowledgment violates all international laws and treaties, which affirm that the Golan Heights is occupied Syrian Arab land.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi stated that any decisions or recognitions that disregard the reality and truth established by United Nations and international resolutions are unacceptable and undermine peace and security efforts in the region. He emphasized the importance of the Government of Colombia rescinding this void recognition, as well as the necessity for the Israeli occupation to comply with international legitimacy resolutions by withdrawing from all occupied Arab territories, including the Golan Heights.

Concluding his statement, the GCC secretary-general underlined the GCC states' firm stance in support of the Syrian Arab Republic, standing by its side in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity, including the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. He categorically rejected any measures or violations that infringe upon Syria's political independence or compromise its territorial integrity.
