GCC Secretary General Emphasizes Importance of Cooperation in the Field of Public Prosecution

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi has reaffirmed the commitment of GCC states to strengthening cooperation in the field of public prosecution and among attorneys general.

Speaking at the 16th meeting of Attorneys General and Public Prosecutors of the GCC countries, held on October 29 in Doha, Qatar, under the chairmanship of Qatar’s Attorney General Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Albudaiwi said that such meetings, held within the framework of joint Gulf action, align with GCC leaders’ wise vision to enhance Gulf convergence, cooperation, and integration.

Albudaiwi also praised the GCC Public Prosecution Committee, established in 2007, which has made significant strides in achieving integration among public prosecutions and attorneys general in the GCC countries through various initiatives, including the Muscat Document on the rules for child protection during investigation, and the ethics document for AI in the work of the public prosecution document.

Albudaiwi also
commended the committee for working to unify systems and laws, enhance cooperation to combat crime, exchange information and expertise, and coordinate positions on common issues.
