GCC Secretary-General Praises US Move to Revoke Syria’s Terrorism Status

Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi welcomed the announcement by the United States to initiate procedures to rescind the designation of the Syrian Arab Republic as a State Sponsor of Terrorism, expressing his hope that this decision will bolster international and regional efforts to enhance security and stability in Syria, while serving as an impetus to advance the country's development, prosperity, and return to its regional and international standing.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's firm position supporting the unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria, while rejecting any interference in its internal affairs. He underscored the importance of continuing these collective international efforts to ensure a stable and prosperous future for the brotherly Syrian people.
