Jeddah:The Executive Committee of the Gulf Football Federation (GFF) has officially approved Iraq as the host for the 28th Arabian Gulf Cup. This decision was made during a meeting held in Jeddah, coinciding with the Khaleeji Arabian Dyar 27.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was led by GFF President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and included members of the Executive Committee. The Iraqi Football Association's bid to host the tournament, which was the only submission from member associations, was reviewed and approved.

Iraq is now tasked with notifying the GFF of the chosen host city within the designated timeframe and fulfilling the necessary organizational requirements. The decision underscores the GFF's dedication to fostering cooperation among its member associations and enhancing the stature of Gulf football tournaments.
