New York:Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih participated in the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Rumaih, as part of the Kingdom's delegation, engaged in discussions with ministers, government officials, and leaders of international organizations to enhance global health cooperation, share expertise, and strengthen partnerships for addressing key global health issues. He took part in the second United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting focused on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response. This meeting aimed to convert international commitments into actionable strategies centered on equity, solidarity, national capacity building, and strengthening health system resilience. Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in global health security and the need for effective international cooperation to tackle cross-border health threats. The Kingdom shared its experience in managing significant gatherings like the Hajj and reaffirmed its commitment to the Health in All Policies and One Health approaches. Additionally, Saudi Arabia expressed support for the World Health Organization Pandemic Agreement and the amendments to the International Health Regulations.
