The Eastern Region Municipality: The Eastern Region Municipality has launched a greening initiative involving 30 volunteers to mark the National Greening Season, which was launched under the patronage of Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aligns with Vision 2030’s goal of increasing green spaces. It aims to plant over 500,000 trees and three million flowers across Dammam’s streets and parks, contributing to improved air quality, reduced heat, and enhanced biodiversity.

The municipality emphasized the initiative’s role in combating desertification and achieving environmental balance through the use of locally suitable plants. It highlighted the collaborative effort with various institutions to raise awareness about afforestation and support green infrastructure, thereby improving the quality of life in the Eastern Region.
