MP Ghassan Hasbani responded to an invitation by the "Forza Italia" party, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tiani, to participate in the party's annual conference and speak about the Middle East and European foreign policy. Hasbani, the only participant in the conference from outside Italy, underlined in his speech "the importance of establishing the concepts of democracy in the Eastern Mediterranean and working to achieve sustainable solutions for stability instead of temporary solutions." Hasbani's visit also included bilateral meetings with Tiani and officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense, which focused on the situation in Lebanon, the path of democracy and stability, the presidential elections dossier, and ways to help institutions in Lebanon, particularly the Lebanese army.
