Jeddah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Jeddah. HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the contents of the two messages he received from President Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet emphasized its condemnation of the attacks on the territories and territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait. The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's support for the Gulf states and the measures they are taking for security and stability. Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated that the Cabinet discussed the latest developments in cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and various countries and international organizations. The outcomes of the third meeting of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council were commended, reflecting a shared interest in consolidating bilateral relations.
The Cabinet considered Riyadh's selection to host a United Nations digital government center as confirmation of the Kingdom's leadership and its role in supporting international action, enabling innovation, and adopting artificial intelligence technologies. The Cabinet reviewed the quarterly report on the state's general budget performance for fiscal year 2026, noting a commitment to enhancing spending on national priorities like health, education, social development, and infrastructure projects.
The Cabinet highlighted the growing developmental momentum in the industrial and mining sectors throughout 2025, emphasizing achievements in attracting quality investments and enhancing self-sufficiency in targeted sectors. Several decisions were issued, including approving memorandums of understanding on climate change cooperation with Russia, scientific activities with Oman, sustainability in agriculture with international organizations, and marine biodiversity conservation with China.
Other decisions included cooperation in mineral resources with Tunisia, transport safety agreements with other countries, cooperation in data and artificial intelligence with Bahrain, and radio and television cooperation with Qatar and Tunisia. Additionally, the establishment of the Kingdom University in Riyadh was approved.
