The Development Authority of the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve said that all hunting activities are strictly prohibited within its boundaries, with the exception of the North Reserve for Sustainable Hunting. The authority's clarification came in response to inquiries about the possibility of hunting within the reserve. As part of its efforts to preserve biodiversity, the authority allows hunting enthusiasts to enjoy their hobby in the North Reserve for Sustainable Hunting from early November 2024 until early March 2025, provided they obtain the necessary permits and comply with all approved environmental standards. It also explained that the regulation of sustainable hunting activities is measured according to precise definitions of the areas, times, and numbers of permitted hunting. Such regulation supports breeding centers aimed at increasing game populations, contributing to the principles of environmental sustainability and the protection of wildlife. The authority emphasized that the conserv ation of wildlife and their habitats, particularly endangered species, lies at the heart of its strategies to enhance ecological balance in the reserve. It aims to promote a culture of sustainable hunting and preserve the intangible heritage associated with traditional hunting in the Kingdom, while ensuring environmental protection. It also says that field inspections by environmental monitoring teams will continue, employing modern technologies for surveillance and monitoring, and warning that legal action will be taken against violators in cooperation with relevant authorities.
