Niamey: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) on Monday launched an advanced training program for trainers specializing in Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing in Niamey, Niger, as part of its advisory services aimed at supporting member states and strengthening institutional capacities to counter terrorism-related financial crimes.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program, which runs from December 8 to 12, includes 25 participants from the financial, security, regulatory, and military sectors and is designed as a comprehensive five-day training initiative. It offers two main advisory tracks: an advanced specialized training package in combating terrorist financing and money laundering, and a program to qualify and train trainers. This dual-track approach aims to transfer knowledge, localize expertise, and establish national cadres capable of delivering training while ensuring institutional sustainability.

The training content covers key areas, including international legal and legislative frameworks; modern trends and methods of terrorist financing; mechanisms of money laundering and their role in supporting terrorist activities; advanced financial detection and analysis techniques; and compliance governance and corporate leadership within financial institutions. The program also includes advanced modules on tracking suspicious financial flows, developing proactive financial investigation skills, and strengthening cooperation among financial, regulatory, and security authorities, in line with the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The launch of this program reflects IMCTC’s continued efforts to support member states, enhance national preparedness to combat financial crimes linked to terrorism, and protect financial systems from exploitation, thereby contributing to security and stability at both the regional and international levels.
