International Dates Council Workshop Focuses on Global Marketing Strategies in Tunisia

Tunis:The International Dates Council has launched a workshop in the Tunisian capital aimed at enhancing the global marketing of dates and identifying new markets. The event, titled "Global Marketing and Promotion of Dates: Best Practices and Success Models," gathers experts and professionals from various date-producing and consuming countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the two-day workshop is organized by the International Dates Council in collaboration with Tunisia's Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, and the Dates Interprofessional Grouping.

Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, highlighted the significance of Tunisia hosting the event due to its extensive experience in date production and exports, as well as its strong presence in European markets. She noted the importance of adapting to the rapidly evolving international market requirements, which include product safety, traceability, and compliance with standards.

The workshop brings together representatives from both public and private sectors to exchange successful experiences, showcase best practices, and explore broader opportunities for trade cooperation. It aims to address the creation of value for the product by understanding market and consumer requirements, emphasizing that marketing is part of an integrated system involving quality, brand identity, and distribution channels.

During the first day of the workshop, the International Dates Council's Marketing and Promotion Committee discussed topics related to developing date marketing and promotion strategies, supporting producers' competitiveness, and improving access to foreign markets. Participants shared successful models in date production, marketing, and value addition, emphasizing the importance of continued joint efforts to understand global market trends and develop products that meet consumer needs.
