The Director of the West Asia Department of the Iranian Trade Development Organization confirmed that the country's exports to Iraq reached more than $4.5 billion in the past 5 months, which represents a growth of 21%. According to the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA), Abdol Amir Rabiehawi said that Iraq is a strategic neighbor of Iran and the annual trade volume between the two countries is about $10 billion. In the 5 months of this year (March-August), trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about $4.8 billion, more than $4.5 billion of which were for Iranian exports to Iraq. He added that the volume of exports to Iraq increased by 21% compared to the same period last year, which amounted to $3.55 billion. We hope to reach the record number of $10 billion in the second half of the year. He said about Iran's exports to Iraq: The most important exports to Iraq are liquefied gas, steel, petrochemical goods of all kinds, construction materials and foodstuffs.
