The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, met today on the sidelines of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Washington, D.C., with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, as well as finance ministers, central bank governors, and heads of regional financial institutions from the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Dr. Al Jasser expressed the IsDB Group’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the IMF, emphasizing the importance of innovative financing strategies to boost the $3 trillion Islamic finance industry and to promote multilateralism in development.
Additionally, also on the sidelines of the meetings, Dr. Al Jasser met with Tunisia’s Minister of Economy and Planning Dr. Samir Abdel Hafiz. Their discussions centered on strengthening cooperation between the IsDB Group and Tunisia and providing innovative financial solutions to support Tunisia’s economic development plan.
