King Khalid University Marks World Environment Day with Notable Achievements

Abha: In conjunction with World Environment Day, King Khalid University showcased its achievements in environmental conservation, having established sustainability as a core priority within its 2030 research strategy to enhance campus life.

According to Saudi Press Agency, at the forefront, the university's Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Environmental Research and Natural Resources Sustainability has documented over 20,000 plant samples, conducted 500 field surveys, published 200 scientific papers, and carried out more than 50 innovative environmental projects.

To support these goals, the university secured a Category A environmental license from the National Center for Environmental Compliance and built over 30 international and local strategic partnerships. Backed by 412,000 square meters of campus green space, the institution continues to develop smart agriculture, recycling, and environmental artificial intelligence solutions to protect regional forests.
