KSrelief Successfully Completes Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Project in Indonesia

Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has wrapped up its volunteer pediatric cardiac surgery project in Padang, located in the West Sumatra Province of Indonesia. The initiative took place from July 24 to 31, 2026, and saw the participation of 16 volunteers specializing in various medical fields.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the project, KSrelief's volunteer medical team provided examinations for 53 patients and performed 25 open-heart surgeries along with two cardiac catheterization procedures. The team also conducted 58 electrocardiograms (ECGs), performed CT scans for two beneficiaries, and reviewed and interpreted 30 CT scans. Additionally, the endeavor facilitated knowledge transfer to local medical personnel and medical students across more than four specialties, including respiratory therapy, nursing, intensive care, and cardiology, ultimately benefiting 200 individuals.

This project is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian and relief efforts, orchestrated through KSrelief, aimed at supporting the medical sector and aiding patients and individuals with heart conditions in allied countries.
